A time to Mourn

I know you all are waiting for pictures from our trip to San Francisco, but I am afraid you will have to wait just a few more days.

This afternoon we got word that a dear friend of ours lost her husband today. She is 31 and he would have been 40 next week. They have 2 children ages 2 1/2 (one week older than my 2 year old) and 6 months.

What makes this story so much more terrible than it already is, is the fact that this is the second husband she has lost. Her first husband died on September 16, 2001 (just 5 days after 9/11) while playing basketball with my husband and 5 other guys. I will never forget that day or the days that followed. And now this. I can't think of anything worse that could have happened to her. Just so you know, he wasn't sick (neither was the first husband), this death was a sudden tragedy.

She is a lovely, caring person who loves God with all her heart. Please keep her in your prayers tonight and for nights to come. She needs the prayers of many to get her through this. Her name is Rachel.

There is so much more to this story that I could tell you, but for the sake of time I will keep that for a later post.

I'm so sorry. My thoughts are prayers are with her and her family and with you to keep strong for her during this difficult time.

THoughts and prayers are with your friend and her little ones. I can't even begin to comprehend what that must be like. It must mean a lot to her to have you there as a friend.
