Food Finds

Has anyone else tried this soup? Yum-ola! So far my favorite is Hearty Tomato followed closely by Vegatable Noodle. My friend Dana says the Chicken Gumbo is good, and I plan on having that for lunch today! Check the labels though. They have several that are low fat/calories, but not all are. Also, if you are doing Weight Watchers Points program, there are several that are 0 points per serving. Not too shabby!

Has anyone else tried these? Jello got it right when they made this Dulce de Leche pudding! I actually found out about them from this blog I read. For only 60 calories you get this great tasting creamy pudding with caramel on top! Yum-ola!

Anyone else afraid of sodium Nitrate? Well, I wasn't until I read this post on my friend Christels blog. Yuck! So, I have been on the look out for lunchmeat that does not contain that offending ingredient. Today I found Hormel naturals. They contain no preservatives. They come in chicken, ham, turkey and roast beef. I found mine at Wal-mart. I also noticed that Oscar Mayer has a version as well. Also, the Hormel version has 60 calories for 3 slices!
Yummy!

I also wanted to tell you guys about Sara Lee 45 calories and delightful bread! I was so sceptacle of this at first because to be completely honest with you, I haven't tried a low calorie whole wheat bread yet that I liked. Usually, they are very dry and taste like cardboard. I have to tell you though, this bread is really good. It has a great texture, is soft and tastes good. It is 100% whole wheat as well. I searched the Sara Lee website for a picture but couldn't find one, I think it is so new they just haven't added it yet. But, I have found it at several stores so you should be able to find it too. Oh and my kids like it as well so it gets 2
thumbs up at my house! Dee-Lightful!

So, what's my new favorite snack? Glad you asked. I take a plain rice cake (35 calories), spread it with 2 Tbls of fat free cream cheese (30 calories) and top that with 1 TBLS. of low calorie raspberry jelly (10 calories). Can you say yum-ola?

Yum...great finds. Glad you liked the pudding...for 60 calories, you can't beat it! I'm going to have to try that lunch meat...I've been avoiding it for a while b/c of the nitrates!

I haven't tried that soup yet! I have tried the jello and it is yummy(just make sure to check the label for partially hydrogenated oil, high fructose corn syrup, and I can't remember which artificial sweetner they used) Splenda is better than the other ones. As far as the lunch meat goes... That is all I buy now. My husband and I love it! Even our boys can't tell the difference~ :)
