Coming soon to a blog near you...

I had hoped to write my all important (ha, ha) post about my new thinking on food and the like last night, but hubby challenged me to 50 sit-ups. Are you laughing? I was. Actually it all started last Sunday when he commented that he was very proud that I had stuck with the whole fitness thing for 2 1/2 years (has it been that long?). Of course, being the female that I am, I proceeded to accept his compliment but had restrictions. Oh, yes, I did. I had to point out my problem area (my stomach) and complain that I hate, hate, hate ab work but wish I could have a flatter stomach (the remains of having 3 kids in 4 years). He asked if I wanted a washboard, six pack stomach. No, I don't. I just want it flatter, if that is even possible. So he proceeds to tell me that he thinks that if he just did 50 sit-ups a day that he would have a six pack in no time. Are you laughing? I was. I told him that I thought it takes more than that. Just sit-ups? No way! You need to do crunches and different moves that work the upper and lower abs and side bends that work out your obliques. He disagrees. So to prove me wrong he has been doing 50 sit-ups every day since. Last night he said "Are you ready for your workout?" I said no, since I ran 8 miles that morning. But I couldn't back away from that challenge. So, we did 50 sit-ups. It wasn't hard. In fact, I did 60. Which made him want to do 70. I have to tell you, its going to take a lot more to get that washboard stomach.

I think 1000 sit ups a day would work, but not 50!

But building your ab muscles wont get rid of fat on top (And im not saying you are fat! Everyone has this problem.)
