Inspiration

It seems that a few of you are interested in my little (big) challenge. If you've been around here long enough you know that I like to give credit where credit is due. A few weeks ago I was watching "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno". The guest that night was Will Smith. Now, normally I'm not a huge Will Smith fan, but the show was on and I wasn't quite ready to go to sleep just yet so I watched. Jay mentioned something that Will had told him before about reading and running. I thought that meant reading while you are running and thought that sounded a little crazy. However Will said "Yep, I think that if you run a little and read a little everyday that you will be smart and fit." Hmmm. Great idea.

I love to run, but I think in the past I got caught up in "Oh, I have to run 6 miles every single time I run or its not worth it." But, now I'm relaxing on that and have changed my attitude to "as long as I run a little everyday, I'm doing great".

I love to read, but again, in the past, I've gotten caught up in how fast I can get through a book. But a book a week? I can totally do that.

So, I've done the math for you (cause I'm sweet like that). 500 miles a year would be 41.67 miles a month and on average if there are 30 days in a month its 1.39 miles a day (more if it Feb. and less if there are 31 days). That is a totally doable number. Don't look at the 500. Look at the 1.39 miles per day.

If you want to join my challenge, let me know by commenting on this post. I'm going to try to find someone to make us a little blinkie to put on our blogs! If you know someone who can make us a blinkie let me know.

Who's up for getting fit and smart?

Have you read The Shack yet? It is so good, but one you have to read when you are at peace and can really think about what is being said.

Me too, me too! I went to the gym and ran again last night when all I wanted to do was curl up on the couch! I was very proud of myself!
